Lei è Lavinia. Lui è Falco. Lei è un po’ sovrappeso, fragile, si sente inadeguata e bisognosa di amicizia e amore. Lui è bello, appare sicuro di sé, forte, un leader. Sembrano i protagonisti perfetti per una romantica storia d’amore. Ma questa non è una storia d’amore. Le loro esistenze si incroceranno come vittima e carnefice. Un romanzo che racconta il volto vile e ignobile del cyberbullismo, di chi fa il male come se fosse un gioco, senza rendersi conto della portata delle proprie azioni (anche se virtuali), traendo forza dall'assenza di confronto diretto che garantiscono i canali social e le chat. Un romanzo che descrive il disagio e il dolore di chi diventa un bersaglio, ma che ribadisce che una soluzione si trova sempre (mentre il suicidio è davvero l’unica soluzione che annulla tutte le possibili altre). Un romanzo per ragazzi, che però consiglio anche agli adulti, perché la vicenda viene narrata dal punto di vista di tutti i protagonisti, genitori ed insegnanti compresi. E poi, bellissimo quel titolo… aperto a molteplici interpretazioni e riflessioni.

She is Lavinia. He is Falco. She is a little overweight, frail; she feels inadequate and needs friendship and love. He is beautiful, he looks confident, strong, like a leader. They seem like the perfect protagonists for a romantic love story. But this is not a love story. Their existences will cross as victim and perpetrator. A novel that shows the villainous face of cyberbullying, of those who act evil as though it were a game, without having any idea of the course of their actions (though virtual), drawing strength from the absence of direct confrontation guaranteed by social channels and chats. A novel that describes the pain and discomfort of those who become a target, but also reaffirms that there is always a solution (while suicide is the only solution that cancels all possible others). A novel for kids, but I also recommend it to adults, because the story is narrated from the point of view of all the protagonists, parents and teachers too. And then, a title so beautiful... which opens multiple interpretations and reflections.
